About this Community

The Ray Grutzmacher Family Community is a pioneering permanent supportive housing project developed by TPC Homes’ predecessor organization, FlyawayHomes, in 2021. FlyawayHomes constructed it using converted shipping containers, and it contains 16 two-bedroom units for formerly unhoused families. Individual donors primarily financed construction through impact investment, supplemented by a $1 million forgivable loan from LA County’s Housing Innovation Challenge.
